While this is the first person K.A. has killed in the heat of battle, it's likely that this will not be the last, not because killing is a good thing or something she wants to do, but because the defense of innocents and loved ones takes precedence in such extreme times.

wooh new page..Damn, I agree with you that extreme situations like this definitely leaves her no choice, wonder how it's going to affect her psyche and resolve!
Lamar's underwater base is airtight and shielded from the deep sea pressure, but the wound that Ignis man received is even worse than it looks (K.A.'s new weapon was conceived not as a lightsaber, but a series of ultra-fine electrified filaments that basically cut things to ribbons)
You basically walked into a war, K.A. Pacifism isn't on the table now. Invest in a good therapist, because you're going to have to deal with the consequences of getting yourself involved in violent encounters one way or another.
This isn't a superhero comic that operates under the "if you kill your enemy you become just like your enemy" fantasy of self-aggrandizing inaction. Even Captain America killed Nazis during the second World War (at lest before he became one, but I digress....)
Oh snap, K.A made a rash decision! And you know I know other protagonists who know something or other about that. It's an understandable rash decision of course, Lamar was going to bite it if she hadn't. But all the same, when you have to do something that goes against your personal creed.
I'm also a huge fan of the sixth panel. Lots of depth!

That guy's probably not actually dead yet, though. Like, that looks like a flesh wound.
Actually hang on, is this room filled with water? Because if so then never mind, you can't save him.

Nice action panels! :)
Killing doesn't feel right, but in a war sometimes you gotta do a few questionable things to achieve a greater good...

I like that Mela is rocking an 80's-style Arnold line! XD (You need a little cheese amidst the violence.)
Yes, that shock of 'what did I just do!' is more realistic than 'oh hey, that was cool'.

Yes she did. I love the body language in panel 5. That "what have I done" feeling.
