Does Lamar's claim that the Wirecats' (later Wyrecats')super-suits will not be weapons hold any water? Is his bluntness justified, given how K.A.'s dad has been funding all their activities? Is it so vital that the Wyrecats be completely divorced from the national military? Discuss!
Depends on who they expect to get access to the suit technology. The problem is, once people know it is possible, the tech gets unraveled pretty quickly by others.
Basically any tech thath they use that can be seen is going to be copied in time. And not necessarily by those who watch 'my little ponies' shows!
Lamar is well found as the national military would be interested in suits of power armor that can fly, and the such. I understand The fear what the military could do with their invention, and the horror of what could if what the group had created hits mass market.
However I would also call Lamar a little bit of hypocrite as the Wyrecats are pretty much para-military group as they are search, and rescue team. It's shown that they did have combat in mind when made the suits, seeing a terrorist is one of their enemies. As for working with the military: it all depends on how much one likes there country, the Wyrecats are going to crosses paths not just the US army, but the army of any nation they are operating in. Some people don't like high power weapons running around in their land without consent in the matter.
At last: seeing how we living in the age of the hacker, it be a matter of time before the suits hit market...
I know there are supposed to be heavier things going on with this page, but I just can't help noticing K.A.'s picture on his desk and thinking how sweet that is. He really seems like a loving parent.
Governments, especially wealth ones with a large Military Industrial Complex built into their infrastructure, will eventually get what they want. If it can't be bought, the currency goes from cash to black ops and wetwork.
It is absolutely vital that the Wyrecats not be a military thing. Unfortunately, that's not typically the way the world works. The men with guns almost always have their say over the men with ideas...

Whether or not Kirk was a good person may be open to debate, but he definitely was a good father.
