Three things never to bring up around mixed company: money, politics, and religion. Or familiar company, in the case of Bryce and K.A.

And I spot a little nod to another webcomic on here. ;) I love little touches like that.

Am I the only one here Bryce seems a little off... and his reasoning to break up the little off, or is that just me?

You catch on quick.

Oh, so it's not just me either. I just didn't quite buy his story either. Nice work, Neil. *tips hat*

So it's K.A.'s fault that Bryce sucks at leadership?

That clinic can't be cheap to fund. A well-managed financial package would go quite a ways toward keeping the WyreCats going. There's some other reason why he doesn't want to do that.

He's still fighting the good fight. K.A. obviously wishes it was the old way, though...

I'm late again. Lostman and Andy all ready hit on what I was thinking. There's more to Bryce's story. I'm detecting a bit of guilt behind his aggressive slip.

1.) The limo carrying K.A. and Bryce is stuck in traffic. We get a wide shot of the entire street, with cars packed fender to fender.

K.A.: But why’d you end the Wyrecats?!

2.) Bryce jolts forwards in his seat, lashing out at K.A.

BRYCE: It wasn’t that simple! It’s not like we had Daddy’s money to buy our way out of trouble, OK?!!

3.) K.A. recoils in her seat, clutching her necktie with both hands.

K.A.: Bryce...

4.) Bryce holds his forehead while wincing, as if in physical pain.

BRYCE: No, it’s....look, without you we couldn’t fund the team....and we didn’t want to try.

5.) Bryce regains some of his composure and explains the situation to K.A., who still looks down away from her friend’s gaze.

BRYCE: After I got out of the hospital, I started selling my services as an IT consultant. I was good enough at it to charge a high fee, and I used that money for charities, like this clinic. Not glamorous, but I still do good and don’t have a bullseye on me, right?

K.A.: Yeah...
